Nothing was left out and no detail spared in this 17,000 square-foot home, which spans three separate structures and an access gate 1,000 feet from the house. Integrated Crestron technology includes 80 zones of distributed audio plus 4 surround sound systems, 24 zones of HD video distribution plus 8 zones of analog video, access control and 16 CCTV cameras, and 21 zones of HVAC. Crestron lighting controls 302 loads, and all systems are controlled from 28 touchpanels and 83 keypads.

The clients are avid art collectors and philanthropists who struggled with multiple systems in the past. They wanted a simpler lifestyle and tighter security. Baumeister integrated AV, lighting, shades, HVAC and security. Lighting the diverse art collection was particularly challenging and one of the highlights of this project.

The architect drew plans for this 10,000 square foot home by hand, so the design had to be replicated in auto CAD. The challenge and ultimate success was blending traditional interior design with high-end technology. Audio, video, lighting, climate control, security, phone and data network were all seamlessly integrated with Crestron control. A full Gig network and fiber optic micro ducting for higher future bandwidth were also installed.

This 1920's plaster home posed many challenges to bring it into the 21st century. The greatest obstacle was this large 22, 000 sq ft home only had one boiler for hot water and radiators; air circulation was practically non-existent, which made cooling the equipment difficult. Crestron controls the HVAC and fans to circulate air and maintain the temperature in the equipment room and throughout the house. Lutron lighting was replaced with more powerful and flexible Crestron lighting. AV distribution and security were also integrated.
